Riding Program

Whether you are a seasoned competitor
looking to sharpen your skills,
a beginner looking to ride for fun,
or anything in between,
our riding program has a place for you.
We are excited to develop our
students' riding skills,
but we are committed to
developing character, work ethic, horsemanship, life lessons,
and life long friendships.
We are proud to offer
the best of both worlds:
we are one of the largest saddleseat
riding programs in the country,
but we also take pride in
an individualized approach to
coaching to ensure that each rider
has what they need to succeed.

What do I wear?
For your first lesson, make sure to wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and you can borrow a helmet
from us! If you decide to continue riding, we require zip-front paddock boots, boot cut riding jodphurs, riding gloves, and an ASTM/SEI certified riding helmet.

What happens?
Arrive at the barn 15 minutes prior to your lesson time, and fill out
the registration form.
Your instructor will give
you an approximately
30-minute lesson.
Your lesson may include ground skills, horsemanship, riding, horse care, and more!

When can I ride?
We offer riding lessons Monday through Thursday, from about
2:00pm - 7:00pm.
Be sure to sign up for the High Caliber Happenings email chain, stay in touch with your instructors, and follow our riding program socials to stay up to date on the schedule.
what's the process?
we'll walk you through it.

Each year, High Caliber Stables competes in the National Academy Championship Finals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
For over 25 years, the top academy riders from across the country have gathered to compete, raise money for St. Jude's, and most importantly, have fun. High Caliber has coached many National Champion riders, and was chosen for the 2024 National Academy Championships Trainer of the Year. Competing at "Nationals" is the goal for many of our riders!
